Waiting for your flight with your feet in the sand… Chef Thierry Marx has now made every traveller's dream come true, aided and abetted by Lagardère Travel Retail France!
With his new concept La Plage, the star-rated Chef will be prolonging the Riviera experience right up to Nice airport's Terminal 1. And it's all there down to the last detail: sand, sun loungers, wooden slats and even a belvedere complete with binoculars!
The star-rated Chef invites travellers on a voyage into "chic snacking", with highlights including culinary specialities from Nice and Southeastern France, together with sun-packed local produce. There's something for every taste and to top it all, the prices are extra-friendly! "La Plage" serves a range of delicious club sandwiches, mixed salads and "arancinis" – a little risotto made with chicken stock, stuffed with a cherry tomato and buffalo mozzarella, then breaded and fried. Other local treats include crispy stuffed sardines in puff pastry, also evocatively called "rissoles dodues"...
The kitchen puts on a show every noon with the "meat dish of the day" and "fish dish of the day" grilled à la plancha in front of lunch guests."Cooks are above all artisans who know how to work with raw materials", asserts Thierry Marx . A special children's menu is also available, along with a surprise for the kids: a turquoise blue pool just for them.
Early-morning travellers enjoy a made-to-measure breakfast, with a selection of hot drinks, freshly juiced fruit and vegetables, and pastries and fresh bread made by the artisan baker. You can also opt for a brunch, with mouth-watering Corsican charcuterie from Chez Moracchini, cheeses, farm yoghurt and organic eggs.
There's no two ways about it, "La Plage" is definitely the place to be in Nice…
