Dubrovnik (King's Landing)

The bastion of the kings of Westeros: King's Landing, a.k.a. Dubrovnik. It is not surprising that this monumental city was chosen to be the capital of Westeros: the old city of Dubrovnik is surrounded by thick walls and is located on a peninsula surrounded by an impressive cliff ...

In the world of "Game of Thrones", King's Landing is a significant place, featuring in most episodes and where the majority of characters meet. It is also the home of all the intrigues, secrets and evil conspiracies.

Minčeta tower (House of the Undying)

The mysterious House of the Undying corresponds, in the real world, to Minčeta tower, located along the walls of Dubrovnik. It was a important defence tower that protected the city from attacks from land. It is also one of the symbols of the town's "invincibility".

Fort Lovrijenac (The Red Keep)

The Red Keep - the heart of King's Landing - corresponds, in the real world, to Fort Lovrijenac, located outside Dubrovnik on a rock overlooking the sea from 37 meters high. Anecdote: at the fort entrance is an old inscription containing a message that could be translated as "freedom cannot be sold for all the gold in the world".

Trsteno Arboretum

If you want to stroll through the green gardens of King's Landing, visit Trsteno arboretum, set on the shore in the village of the same name, a dozen kilometers north of Dubrovnik.  This lush garden has an aqueduct which supplies water to a fountain featuring a statue of Neptune. Visitors may also enjoy a beautiful gazebo and pavilions, as well as admire many exotic plants such as bamboo.

Šibenik (Braavos)

The old medieval town of Sibenik can be glimpsed in the fifth season as Braavos, one of the free cities located on the coast overlooking the Narrow Sea. The Braavosi are a race of sailors and adventurers. This city is home to the powerful "Iron Bank" and serves as a hideout to Arya Stark during her flight from Westeros. With its walls and its ancient architecture, Šibenik is protected by four fortresses. A visit to the city will allow you to look back over the course of history while enjoying the warm Croatian sunshine.

Split (King's Landing)

Some of the scenes in the fifth season of "Game of Thrones" were filmed inside Diocletian's Palace in Split. The large palace complex of Roman emperor Diocletian appears in numerous period mysteries and TV shows. Split is one of Croatia's more "multi-purpose" locations of "Game of Thrones".

Krka National Park (Westeros countryside scenes)

This beautiful natural backdrop was filmed several times throughout the series. With its turquoise waters, lush vegetation and its beautiful waterfalls generating a wonderful background noise, the Krka national park is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

Ston (King's Landing)

Located in south Croatia, the famous Walls of Ston were presented as being the walls of King's Landing. You'll see more tourists climbing the walls than royal guards, because many fans of the TV show visit Ston to admire them. The walls are also known as the "Great Wall of Europe". The walls of Ston feature in the series as the walls of King's Landing.
